Stretch & Flow Yoga

Stretch and flow Is a slow moving vinyasa yoga that includes warm ups for the joints, slow stretching and Hatha Yoga Postures. It is a great way to start your morning as you move with your breath to light your inner flame. Enjoy a rewarding, long Savasana while healing with the sound vibrations of rain sticks, singing bowls and bells.

Meditative Yin

In Meditative Yin Yoga, the approach is with a mental focus and is much deeper than Yang like practices. Often called ``The Yin Within``, Meditative Yin Yoga removes the blockages deep in our connective tissues, allowing the Chi or Prana to flow unhindered. To get the energy moving in Yin Yoga, we can use various techniques. By remaining in the postures longer, we allow ourselves to breathe into each pose which allows the body to relax deeper into stillness. We will also focus on being in the present moment and quieting the mind from everyday chatter and over thinking, creating space to just be who you truly are.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Students will learn how to 'flow' safely from pose to pose & learn new balance & challenging poses along the way. Great for all levels, all sizes, shapes and ages!

Beginner Yoga

Beginner Yoga is a gentle style of Hatha yoga. Students learn the proper posture alignment for classic yoga postures (asanas), how and when to use yoga props, deep breathing, and how to prevent injuries. You will gain strength and endurance as well as build the knowledge and confidence needed to develop a health yoga practice.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a traditional style of yoga that includes the practice of yoga postures (asanas) and basic breathing exercises (pranayama) to bring greater harmony to aspects of body and mind. The word Hatha is a compound word where “ha” refers to sun/active/masculine and “tha” refers to moon/receptive/feminine energies within all of us. Students are guided with focus on structural anatomy and alignment and strive to develop balance of strength and flexibility in the body with attention on breath to help still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a healing form of yoga that utilizes various props and offers the opportunity to experience physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Practicing poses with the support and comfort of props you will dissolve physical tension, enhance your circulatory and nervous systems as well as reduce stress. This class is available to all levels, seniors, beginners, as well as being popular with students who are recovering from illness or injury. Restorative yoga is considered an ideal balance to hectic and stressful modern lifestyles. Our experienced teacher, Nita Andrieu E-RYT, is also a Level II Certified Relax and Renew Instructor and will guide you with detailed gentle instructions.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science that comes from India. Here in America, it was brought to us by Yoga Bhajan, who wanted to help Americans recover from the drug use of the sixties and live radiant, spiritual lives. Kundalini Yoga is called the householder’s yoga because it has very effective kriyas and exercises that rapidly produce results. It is the perfect yoga for busy people who are balancing work and family and home. Kundalini yoga uses some very ancient and scientifically proven methods to increase health, awareness and radiance. These techniques encompass the whole Eightfold Path of Yoga and include the use of Yoga asanas (postures), Kriyas, Pranayama (breathing techniques), Mantra, Bandhas (Body Locks), Meditation and at the end use Gong Therapy with Deep Relaxation. Our Kundalini classes are taught by Laura Shakti, who studied under Yogi Bhajan in Los Angeles for 15 years.

Yin Yoga / Candlelight Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative style of yoga that involves variations of seated and supine poses, typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of the connective tissue - the tendons, fascia, and ligaments - with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. This practice was also designed to help you sit longer, and more comfortably, in meditation by stretching connective tissue around the joints. Please check the schedule for Candlelight Yin offered in the soothing glow of candle lights.

Reiki Meditation

This class is done in the style of Yoga Nidra, in that the first half hour you will receive a guided meditation for the mind and body to achieve full relaxation while laying comfortably on the floor with blankets and bolsters for full support, and then receiving Reiki the second half hour. Reiki is the ``Life Force Energy`` that flows through all of us. Tapping into this energy, Reiki allows the mind and body to come together releasing tensions and emotional blockages throughout the body and mind. Reiki healing energy is then able to flow freely while making space for healing.

Gentle Yoga

This gentle yoga class is suitable for beginners, level 1 -2, seniors, anyone who is recovering from injuries, back pain, arthritis or illnesses, or anyone who would like to slow down their pace for an hour and enjoy warms ups, deep stretching, moving from one posture to the next slowly and with expert directions and modifications. You will be led through Classic yoga asanas, all practiced seated or laying on the mat, moving with your breath and a deep relaxation at the end. This is a gentle but not passive class. At the end of each class you will feel like you have been moving.

Chair Yoga

This gentle form of exercise uses a chair to support sitting and standing yoga poses for stability and balance. As with traditional classes, there is a warmup period consisting of gentle moves and light stretches. This is a great way stretch all areas of the body while sitting in & standing next to a chair. This is a safe way to stretch, become more flexible and stronger for those who sit long hours during the day or have physical limitations. Chair yoga can be practiced in the gentle yoga classes and the beginner yoga classes.

S.O.A.R. Yoga (Success Over Addiction and Relapse)

Kyczy Hawk, Author of Yoga & the 12 Step Path, developed this yoga program to help people in 12 step programs who are working to recover from all types of addictions. It’s a very gentle, Trauma Sensitive, yoga with breathing techniques to help heal the body, mind and soul. Yoga does not take the place of counseling, in-patient or out-patient programs or 12 step programs but works with them and can enhance recovery. S.O.A.R. Yoga classes are offered in 90 minute workshops. Watch our event page schedule on the web site for dates and the times.

Meditation / Guided Meditation

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. By engaging in a meditation practice you can learn the patterns and habits of your mind. With practice you are offered a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energized states of mind. Such experiences can have a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life. In our meditation classes you are guided to relax your body and mind as well as taught ways to help focus by using breathing techniques, chanting, mantras and mala beads.
