Gentle Flow Yoga

This is a type of Vinyasa Style Yoga.  Vinyasa, also called flow because of the smooth way that the student moves from one pose to another, is one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga. The movement practice of Vinyasa is said to have begun with T Krishnamacharya who has had the largest influence on how yoga in general is practiced today.

In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronized to a breath.  Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.  The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same movement every day.

The gentle Flow Yoga class, or gentle Vinyasa Yoga, is designed for beginners through intermediate students. This is a great class for students looking for a more gentle experience, those who are new to yoga or those who need a change of pace, yet still have the option to take it to the next level. Also the perfect class for students with injuries or limitations.

In Gentle Flow, you’ll be guided through postures in a Vinyasa style, beginning with the basic poses, but allowing for more challenging poses based on your practice level.  Props are encouraged to allow the body to fully achieve each pose comfortably.
